About InstaPermit
Our founders spent more than a decade in solar and electrical operations. InstaPermit grew out of the same delays, portal checks, and administrative drag their teams faced every week.
Where it began
Our work started in the field and in the back office of solar and electrical companies—not in a software lab. Across California and Massachusetts, two of the country’s highest-volume installation states, we ran into the same delays and administrative drag.
Day after day, week after week, our teams lost hours logging into government portals, moving between different systems, and trying to identify what had actually changed. They copied statuses into spreadsheets, chased correction notices, and asked whether an approval had finally landed. One missed update could hold a crew, an installation, and a customer schedule in place for days.
We built InstaPermit to handle that busy work so contractors and their teams can handle the real work: moving projects forward, serving customers, and building the business.
West Coast experience
High permit volume, hundreds of independent jurisdictions, and constant portal switching.
East Coast experience
Dense installation markets, local processes, and the same costly visibility gap.
We handle the busy work, so your team can handle the real work.
What we are building
Monitoring solves the visibility problem today. Our Permit Submission pilot is the next step toward reducing the administrative work before a permit enters review.
We build around the portal checks, document handoffs, and repeated data entry contractors already face.
Automation should carry the repetitive work while experienced people review important decisions.
We say what is available, what is being piloted, and what still needs to be built.

Every clear status, clean handoff, and prepared package gives coordinators and field teams more room to do the work customers actually hired them to do.
