InstaPermit (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates instapermit.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly: When you sign up or fill out a form on our site, we collect information such as your name, work email address, company, trade, permit volume, and the workflow details you choose to share. When you connect building department portal credentials to use InstaPermit, those credentials are stored encrypted and used solely to access permit data on your behalf.

Information collected automatically: When configured and consented to, analytics and advertising tools may collect standard web usage information such as pages visited, approximate location, referral source, and device type.

How we use your information

To provide the InstaPermit service and respond to requests
To access supported building department portals on your behalf
To send account and service communications
To improve the product and understand website performance
To evaluate Permit Submission pilot fit when you apply

Portal credentials

InstaPermit uses the building department portal credentials you provide to retrieve permit information on your behalf. These credentials are encrypted at rest and in transit, are not shared for marketing purposes, and are accessed only as needed to provide the service.

Cookies and analytics

Optional analytics and advertising technologies are loaded only when configured for the website and after you choose “Accept analytics.” You may decline without losing access to the site. Use “Cookie choices” in the footer to change your selection for this browser.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us host the service, process requests, support customers, measure website performance, and operate the business. Those providers are required to handle information for the services they perform.

Data retention

We retain account information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal or operational obligations. You may request deletion by contacting us. Portal credential deletion follows account and service requirements.

California residents

California residents may have rights to request access to or deletion of personal information and to receive information about how it is used. We do not sell personal information. Contact privacy@instapermit.com to submit a request.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will post the revised version with a new last-updated date.
