These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of InstaPermit, operated by Definite Impact LLC (“InstaPermit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms.
InstaPermit is a software service that monitors building department permit portals on behalf of licensed California contractors. We use credentials you provide to access portals and retrieve permit status information, displaying it in a centralized dashboard.
You must be a licensed contractor or authorized representative of a contracting business to use InstaPermit. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
By providing building department portal credentials to InstaPermit, you represent that you are authorized to access those portals and that your use of InstaPermit to access them complies with the applicable building department’s terms of use. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of InstaPermit does not violate any portal’s terms of service.
You agree not to use InstaPermit to:
InstaPermit retrieves permit status information directly from building department portals. We display this information as-is and do not independently verify it. Permit status information may be delayed or inaccurate due to factors outside our control, including building department system availability. Do not rely solely on InstaPermit for time-sensitive permitting decisions. Always verify critical permit status directly with the relevant building department.
